Por ejemplo, el\u00a0<strong>at\u00fan rojo del Atl\u00e1ntico<\/strong>, antes ausente, es ahora com\u00fan en el sur de Inglaterra e Irlanda.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">El\u00a0<strong>proyecto Oc\u00e9anos Comunes<\/strong>\u00a0de la\u00a0<strong>FAO<\/strong>\u00a0tiene entre sus objetivos garantizar que las principales poblaciones de\u00a0<strong>at\u00fan<\/strong> se pesquen a niveles sostenibles para 2027, beneficiando as\u00ed a la conservaci\u00f3n de la biodiversidad marina.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure class=\"inline-block\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><picture><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"mx-auto\" src=\"https:\/\/resources.diariolibre.com\/images\/2026\/04\/25\/550200681462-784db79d.jpg\" alt=\"Infograf\u00eda\" width=\"auto\" height=\"350\" \/><\/picture><\/span>\n<figcaption><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Su contenido en vitamina D y f\u00f3sforo propicia tener huesos y dientes fuertes, un escudo contra patolog\u00edas como la osteoporosis.\u00a0(<strong>EFE\/JULI\u00c1N P\u00c9REZ<\/strong>)<\/span><\/figcaption>\n<\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Los datos son optimistas. De las\u00a0<strong>23 poblaciones de at\u00fan<\/strong>, solo dos siguen siendo objeto de sobrepesca.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">La\u00a0<strong>OMS<\/strong>\u00a0recomienda\u00a0<strong>comer pescado<\/strong>\u00a0al menos\u00a0<strong>dos\u00a0<\/strong>veces por semana.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Si se compara con la mayor\u00eda de los pescados, el\u00a0<strong>at\u00fan<\/strong>\u00a0sobresale por su composici\u00f3n nutritiva. Cuenta con las\u00a0<strong>vitaminas B6<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>niacina<\/strong>, D y B12, yodo, minerales como el\u00a0<strong>f\u00f3sforo<\/strong>, el selenio y el potasio, y los valiosos\u00a0<strong>\u00e1cidos grasos omega-3<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">El\u00a0<strong>at\u00fan<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>previene enfermedades cardiovasculares<\/strong>, ayuda a controlar los niveles de colesterol, contribuye a quemar el exceso de grasa en el cuerpo e incluso podr\u00eda prevenir el Alzheimer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Sobre esto \u00faltimo, cient\u00edficos del centro de investigaci\u00f3n de la\u00a0<strong>Fundaci\u00f3n Pasqual Maragall<\/strong>\u00a0(<strong>Barcelona\u00dfeta Brain Research Center<\/strong>\u00a0(BBRC), lideraron uno de los mayores estudios realizados hasta hoy sobre los posibles beneficios de la ingesta de\u00a0<strong>\u00e1cidos grasos omega-3<\/strong> en personas portadoras del genotipo que confiere un mayor riesgo de desarrollar el Alzheimer (APOE e4\/4).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">El tipo de\u00a0<strong>\u00e1cido graso omega-3<\/strong>\u00a0analizado fue el\u00a0<strong>docosahexaenoico<\/strong>\u00a0(<strong>DHA<\/strong>, en sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s), que se encuentra principalmente en el\u00a0<strong>pescado azul<\/strong>: el\u00a0<strong>at\u00fan<\/strong>, la sardina, el salm\u00f3n, las anchoas, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">El trabajo, publicado en\u00a0<strong>American Journal of Clinical Nutrition<\/strong>, concluy\u00f3 que las personas de este colectivo de riesgo que consumen m\u00e1s\u00a0<strong>DHA<\/strong>\u00a0presentan una mayor\u00a0<strong>preservaci\u00f3n cortical<\/strong> en zonas del cerebro afectadas por el Alzheimer y un menor n\u00famero de microhemorragias.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Este\u00a0<strong>\u00e1cido graso<\/strong>\u00a0es muy abundante en el cerebro y es clave para la\u00a0<strong>funci\u00f3n cognitiva<\/strong>. Comienza a acumularse a partir del tercer trimestre de gestaci\u00f3n y est\u00e1 demostrado que tiene una menor presencia en el cerebro de las personas con Alzheimer.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure class=\"inline-block\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"expand-img-placeholder\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/resources.diariolibre.com\/images\/expand.svg\" alt=\"Expandir imagen\" width=\"20\" height=\"20\" \/><\/span><\/div>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><picture><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"mx-auto\" src=\"https:\/\/resources.diariolibre.com\/images\/2026\/04\/25\/550200681463-ebfa91d9.jpg\" alt=\"Infograf\u00eda\" width=\"auto\" height=\"350\" \/><\/picture><\/span>\n<figcaption><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">De forma coloquial, al at\u00fan se le conoce como pez pasaporte porque cubre miles de kil\u00f3metros cruzando oc\u00e9anos y fronteras internacionales.\u00a0(<strong>EFE\/JAVIER ETXEZARRETA<\/strong>)<\/span><\/figcaption>\n<\/figure>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00bfContra la depresi\u00f3n?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">El creciente inter\u00e9s por este tipo de grasas ha impulsado la aparici\u00f3n de suplementos del\u00a0<strong>docosahexaenoico<\/strong>\u00a0(<strong>DHA<\/strong>) y del eicosapentaenoico (<strong>EPA<\/strong>) por supuestamente ser beneficiosos para tratar la depresi\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Sin embargo, la\u00a0<strong>Autoridad Europea de Seguridad Alimentaria<\/strong>, aunque recomienda la ingesta de 250 mg de\u00a0<strong>EPA<\/strong>\u00a0y\u00a0<strong>DHA<\/strong>\u00a0para adultos sanos, no ha informado positivamente sobre los efectos de estos \u00e1cidos grasos en el estado de \u00e1nimo de las personas o en los trastornos psiqui\u00e1tricos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">La agencia hom\u00f3loga estadounidense (<strong>Food and Drug Administration<\/strong>) tampoco ha aprobado el uso de suplementos formulados con\u00a0<strong>EPA<\/strong>\u00a0y\u00a0<strong>DHA<\/strong>\u00a0para el tratamiento de los trastornos psiqui\u00e1tricos.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Mejora del metabolismo<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Gracias a su contenido en\u00a0<strong>vitamina B12<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>niacina<\/strong>\u00a0y prote\u00ednas, el\u00a0<strong>at\u00fan<\/strong>\u00a0s\u00ed ayuda a convertir los alimentos en energ\u00eda de manera eficiente, lo que resulta muy \u00fatil para mantener un\u00a0<strong>metabolismo activo<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Adem\u00e1s, su contenido en\u00a0<strong>vitamina D<\/strong>\u00a0y\u00a0<strong>f\u00f3sforo<\/strong>\u00a0propicia tener huesos y dientes fuertes, un \"escudo\" contra\u00a0<strong>patolog\u00edas<\/strong>\u00a0como la osteoporosis. Su bajo porcentaje de grasas saturadas y su capacidad saciante tambi\u00e9n ayudan a controlar el peso.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00bfSab\u00edas que&#8230;?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Dos tercios de las principales especies de\u00a0<strong>at\u00fan<\/strong>\u00a0capturadas para alimentaci\u00f3n provienen del\u00a0<strong>oc\u00e9ano Pac\u00edfico<\/strong>, el 23 % del \u00cdndico y el 11 % restante se pesca en el\u00a0<strong>Atl\u00e1ntico<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Los\u00a0<strong>atunes<\/strong>\u00a0son depredadores de sangre caliente situados en la cima de la cadena alimentaria; pueden sumergirse a grandes profundidades para alimentarse y nadar hasta\u00a0<strong>43 kil\u00f3metros por hora<\/strong>\u00a0cuando cazan o huyen de depredadores.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Algunas especies recorren largas distancias.
