Yo he ido de funeral en funeral. No hay tiempo para asistir a todos los velorios que se est\u00e1n dando en nuestra patria\u201d, expres\u00f3.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El tambi\u00e9n conocido como \u201cBig Papi\u201d confes\u00f3 que regres\u00f3 al pa\u00eds en la madrugada desde Boston para estar presente en la ceremonia, tras el llamado de un amigo cercano.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cTen\u00eda que estar con mi gente de Haina. Esto es un momento muy dif\u00edcil que solo podemos superar unidos, como familia\u201d, agreg\u00f3 el miembro del Sal\u00f3n de la Fama de la MLB.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">David Ortiz rompe en llanto<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Durante su intervenci\u00f3n, Ortiz relat\u00f3 entre l\u00e1grimas c\u00f3mo esta tragedia lo ha tocado personalmente, al perder amistades cercanas y al ponerse en el lugar de los hu\u00e9rfanos que ha dejado el desastre.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cEsta ma\u00f1ana, cuando me estaba preparando para venir, mi hijo de un a\u00f1o vino gateando hacia m\u00ed, y no pude contener las l\u00e1grimas. Pens\u00e9 en todos esos ni\u00f1os que ya no ver\u00e1n a sus padres\u201d, expres\u00f3.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El ex beisbolista tambi\u00e9n pidi\u00f3 no cuestionar a Dios ante esta dif\u00edcil circunstancia y, en cambio, buscar consuelo en la fe:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cDios tiene una forma de comunicarse con nosotros que muchas veces no entendemos. No lo cuestionemos, encomend\u00e9monos a \u00c9l.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ortiz aprovech\u00f3 para agradecer al presidente Luis Abinader, a la primera dama Raquel Arbaje, a la vicepresidenta Raquel Pe\u00f1a y al equipo de gobierno por su respuesta ante la tragedia:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cNo s\u00e9 mucho de pol\u00edtica, pero lo que han hecho en estos d\u00edas es digno de admirar. Desde el primer momento, han estado con su gente.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Finalmente, hizo un llamado a la unidad, la compasi\u00f3n y la reflexi\u00f3n como sociedad:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cEsto no se olvida de un d\u00eda para otro. Hay que tener compasi\u00f3n. Amar a Dios no solo es decirlo, es vivirlo. Somos mejores que esta violencia, que esta desconexi\u00f3n.
